At the foot of the Dolomites waits this gorgeous lake. One of Italy’s most popular lakes, this is a great place to unwind and soak up some sun after enjoying the Oberammergau Passion Play. Explore Verona, with its beautiful houses and winding streets. Furthermore, see the balcony which inspired Shakespeare to write Romeo and Juliet. Perhaps enjoy a panoramic drive and cruise around the lake. Enjoy a day at leisure to explore your resort and potter the winding lanes.
Once you’re here, you simply won’t want to leave. Lake Garda is a haven of tranquil scenery and delicious cuisine.
Suggested itinerary for groups
Day 1: Arrive in Oberammergau
Fly from a number of UK airports direct to Munich Airport with both scheduled and low-cost airlines. We can arrange transfers between the airport and your hotel in Oberammergau or the surrounding area, where you will enjoy two nights’ half-board accommodation.
Take the Eurostar from London, Ashford or Ebbsfleet to Paris-Nord. Connect on to TGV or ICE trains to Stuttgart, where you can change for Munich. We can arrange transfers between Munich Main Station and your hotel for the Oberammergau Passion Play.
Depart from your home town and travel to Munich by coach, with a stopover en route. We can arrange short-sea Dover-Calais / Dunkirk ferry crossings or Eurotunnel crossings from Folkestone-Calais. Alternatively, take the overnight ferry from Hull-Zeebrugge / Rotterdam, Newcastle-IJmuiden or Harwich-Hook of Holland.
Day 2: Passion Play 2020
In the morning, explore the village of Oberammergau at your leisure, before your inclusive lunch. Afterwards, take your seat for the first part of the 2020 Oberammergau Passion Play, with part 2 commencing after dinner.
Day 3: Travel to Lake Garda
Head towards Italy to your chosen resort at Lake Garda for the next four nights. Familiarise yourself with the area and the hotel’s facilities.
Day 4: Lake Garda Panorama
A scenic drive around Lake Garda passing through typical, charming Italian villages. On the way back enjoy a boat cruise from Malcesine to Limone and back to Riva del Garda/Torbole.
Day 5: At leisure
A day to relax and enjoy your hotel and surroundings.
Day 6: Shakespeare’s Verona
One of the most beautiful cities in Italy, Verona’s charming buildings and winding, cobbled streets inspired the great playwrite to pen Romeo and Juliet. Enjoy a half-day guided tour and see the famous sights, including Juliet’s Balcony and an amphitheatre dating back to Roman times.
Day 7: Travel back to the UK
