Fly to Germany for two nights bed and breakfast in Bavaria’s capital. Enjoy a guided tour of this lively, historic city on the following day, taking in some of Munich’s world-famous sights, spending the rest of the day at leisure, to explore, relax or get in a little shopping!
The next morning, your private coach transfers you to the Oberammergau area, driving through the Bavarian countryside, see some spectacular scenery. On reaching your hotel in Oberammergau or the surrounding area, enjoy your included evening meal and relax before settling in for the night.
Explore the village of Oberammergau at your leisure the following day, taking in the beautiful murals and traditional Bavarian architecture. After your included lunch, take your seat for the first half of the spectacular, moving performance, 10 years in the making and with a history dating back centuries. Break for included dinner before returning for the second half of the Play.
The following morning after breakfast and check-out, your coach will transfer you back to Munich for your flight to the UK.

Itinerary
Day 1: Depart the UK >
Fly from a number of UK departure airports direct to Munich with both scheduled and low-cost airlines. On arrival in Munich Airport, transfer to your central 3* or 4* hotel in Munich, your base for the next 2 nights.
< Day 2: Munich sightseeing
This morning meet your guide and coach at your hotel for a sightseeing tour of this wonderful city. The capital of Bavaria is one of Germany’s most popular tourist destinations. The walkable city centre retains small town flair yet holds some world-class sites. During your tour, visit the renowned Frauenkirche Cathedral, the Marienplatz with the famous ‘Glockenspiel’, the Olympic park and many more. The afternoon will be at leisure; why not stroll around the English Garden, stopping for some traditional German refreshment in the beer garden? Perhaps visit Nymphenbourg Palace, where King Ludwig II was born, and the Marstallmuseum, containing many of his elaborate carriages. Enjoy your evening at leisure in Munich.
Optional afternoon visit to ‘The Residenz’ located in central Munich was originally built as a fortress it became the official residence of the Bavarian Royals for over 400 years with grand guest rooms, courtyards, a concert hall and stables. The Residenz is open as a museum when inside admire the ceiling frescos, antique collections and luxurious interiors. Entrance fee is not included, pay locally, tours are self-guided.
Day 3: Travel to Oberammergau >
After breakfast, depart from Munich to the Bavarian Alps with a visit to the Fairytale palace of Linderhof (entrance and short guided tour included). Renovated in the style of a 19th Century French Chateau by eccentric Ludwig II, this spectacular Baroque building is known as Little Versailles. The interior features lavish furniture and decorations. Outside, beautiful fountains, lawns and symmetric flower arrangements form an enchanting landscape.
The afternoon is free, perhaps visit the spectacular Ettal Abbey Monastery founded in 1330 and restored in the Baroque style in 18th century or alternatively spend some time discovering the Oberammergau Village.
< Day 4: Oberammergau Passion Play
In the morning, explore the charming village of Oberammergau at your leisure. The town’s traditional Bavarian character can be seen in the beautiful wood carvings and the picturesque houses, decorated with intricate frescos. After your included lunch, take your seat for the first part of the 2030 Oberammergau Passion Play, with the second part commencing after dinner.
Day 5: Travel back to the UK >
After breakfast and check-out you will be transferred to Munich Airport for your flight back to the UK.
